Choosing Cooperation in Uncertain Times

Canada and the United States continue to navigate trade tensions and uncertainty, with decisions affecting businesses, workers, families, and consumers on both sides of the border. For many people, the ongoing headlines can bring questions about the economy, our livelihoods, and what the months ahead may hold.

A Different Perspective

When circumstances feel uncertain, it's natural to focus on what might go wrong. But uncertainty also gives us an opportunity to become conscious of where we place our attention and energy.

Canada and the United States are more than trading partners. We are communities of people connected by families, friendships, businesses, shared landscapes, and countless everyday relationships.

Rather than adding fear or division to an already uncertain situation, we can choose to become a presence of calm, wisdom, and cooperation.

We may not control the decisions being made at negotiating tables, but we can choose what we contribute to the conversation around us. We can practise kindness, resist fear-based thinking, and hold all those involved in Affirmative Prayer, affirming wisdom, fairness, understanding, and a mutually beneficial way forward.
