Inspired by the powerful "No Man's Land" scene from Wonder Woman (2017), Dr. Ann Therriault, LUT, explores the spiritual journey from bystander (observer/witness) to upstander (a person of action/doer). Why do we hesitate when we see a need, an injustice, or an opportunity to help? What fears, beliefs, and habits keep us in the trench, and what empowers us to step forward? Drawing on Unity teachings, the Hero's Journey, and the spiritual powers of Faith and Strength, we will explore how love, wisdom, Oneness, and trust can help us move beyond fear and hesitation. Together, we will discover what it means to cross our own "No Man's Land" and live the Truth we know. Join us as we explore what it means to take one courageous step beyond the trench and into a fuller expression of our divine potential. Ann is a scientist at heart. With a dream to step on another planetary surface, she chose a career in planetary geology. She worked at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. She was one of five world experts in her field during the 1990s and early 2000s. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2001, her thesis is about the huge and old impact structure (crater) in Sudbury, Ontario. Ann dedicated just over 30 years of her life with the Department of Natural Resources Canada. From an accomplished scientist, she branched into policy analysis, management and union activism. At the time of her retirement in September 2023, she held the position of Wellness Champion and Mental Health Co-Champion. Since her retirement, she completed the Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT) Program in December 2024 and is now actively participating in the prosperity of the Unity Spiritual Centre Ottawa (USCO), Unity Canada, and Unity In Europe; leading online Unity courses, workshops and discussion groups; and providing Sunday talks as a guest speaker.
